Who was Betsie?
Betsie Och was a beloved friend, mother, daughter, sister, partner, and a spirited woman. She passed away from cancer in 2010. In her memory, her friends and family have organized Betsiefest Northwest, a music and family gathering, every year since her passing.
What is Betsiefest?
Betsiefest was originally an event celebrating Betsie and her life, but has evolved into a celebration of all life. Betsiefest started in Betsie’s backyard, with a few bands called in due to Betsie’s love of music. The event continued every year to honor Betsie and over time moved to Sauvie Island. Betsiefest is a one-day event with an overnight camping section. Enjoy good food, drinks, community, and music with a community dedicated to celebrating life and living life to the fullest.
